Andrews University Wind Symphony Fall Concert

The Andrews University Wind Symphony presents its fall concert, “An American Tribute,” on Saturday, 10月. 下午8点.m. at the Howard Performing Arts Center. The program will feature a number of patriotic pieces that highlight various eras of the history of the United States. This will be the Wind Symphony’s first concert of the 2023–24 season under the direction of Denisse Santos.
The program will begin with a performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” by John 工作人员ord Smith. This will be followed by “The Chimes of Liberty” by Edwin Franko Goldman, featuring guest director Alan Mitchell, and “Suite of Old American Dances” by Robert Russell Bennett. Prior to the intermission, Byron Graves, former Wind Symphony director, will return to conduct a performance of “The Battle Cry for Freedom” by George Frederick Root.
After the intermission, the symphony will play “American Dream Fanfare” by Bruce A. 希利. Student director Luccas Souza will then conduct “With Quiet Courage” by Larry Daehn. The concert will close with performances of “Early Light” by Carolyn Bremer, “For Those Who Have Served” by David Marlatt, and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by Peter J. Wilhousky.
Tickets for this event can be purchased at 霍华德.bet365中文.edu and are $7 for general seating and $5 for students and seniors. There is a two-ticket limit if purchasing with a student ID.
